These Website Terms of Use apply to thelegalcircle.ca, operated by The Legal Circle. The website was designed and built by Magneo, which does not operate The Legal Circle.
By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
Purpose of the website
The Legal Circle is a legal media, networking and professional growth community. The website publishes news, commentary and professional perspectives; provides information about events and community activities; and allows people to register interest, propose contributions and contact The Legal Circle.
General information only
Website content is provided for general information and discussion. It is not legal, financial, tax or other professional advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice about a specific situation.
Reading the website, sending an email, registering interest in an event or submitting a contribution proposal does not create a lawyer-client, advisor-client, fiduciary or other professional relationship with The Legal Circle, a contributor, an event organiser or a person featured on the website.
Editorial content and perspectives
Articles, interviews, podcasts, event discussions and other attributed contributions may express the contributor’s own views. Publication or presentation does not mean that The Legal Circle endorses every statement or that the content reflects the views of another contributor, organiser, employer or professional organization.
The Legal Circle may edit, update or remove website content. Although reasonable efforts may be made to present useful information, we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current or free from error.
Ownership and permitted use
Unless otherwise identified, the website’s branding, original text, graphics and other original content are owned by or used with permission of The Legal Circle. The website’s design and development were provided by Magneo. Website content is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may view the website, make a reasonable number of copies for your personal, non-commercial information and share links to public pages. You may not reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, sell, scrape systematically, remove attribution from or create a commercial product from website content without the rights holder’s written permission or another legal right to do so.
Third-party names, logos, photographs, publications and linked materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Contributor proposals and permissions
Submitting an article idea, interview proposal, commentary or speaking suggestion does not transfer ownership of your work to The Legal Circle and does not grant an unlimited right to publish it. A submission allows The Legal Circle to review the material and communicate with you about the proposal.
Permission to edit, publish, record, promote, reuse or license a contribution will be addressed separately with the contributor before publication or production. Contributors remain responsible for ensuring that material they propose is theirs to share and does not improperly disclose confidential, privileged or third-party material.
Events
Event pages may describe activities that are planned but not yet confirmed. Registering interest does not reserve a ticket or guarantee admission. Confirmed dates, venues, prices and booking conditions will be provided separately when available.
Paid event registration is not currently offered through the website. Event-specific booking, cancellation and refund terms will be provided if paid registration launches.
External websites and services
The website includes links to and embedded services provided by third parties, including LinkedIn, HubSpot and Plov Talks. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. The Legal Circle does not control their availability, security, content or privacy practices.
Acceptable use
You must not use the website for an unlawful, fraudulent, harmful or abusive purpose; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with its operation or security; introduce malicious code; impose an unreasonable automated load; impersonate another person; submit information you are not authorized to provide; disclose confidential or privileged material improperly; or use website content to imply an endorsement that has not been given.
Availability and responsibility
The website may be changed, suspended or withdrawn without notice. To the extent permitted by law, it is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of uninterrupted access or the continued availability of every feature or external link.
To the extent permitted by law, The Legal Circle and its operator are not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on general website content, use of an external service, or an interruption outside their reasonable control.
